Earthquake Relief
On January 12, 2010 at 4:53 P.M. a catastrophic earthquake decimated the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince. Immediately, hundreds of thousands of refugees fled into the countryside. Many of them had no food and little clothing. The mission at Thomonde mobilized to meet the need. Working together with Missionary Flights International and a Mennonite mission, our missionaries were able to receive truck loads of relief supplies. Over 2,000 people signed up with the mission for relief supplies. They received rice, beans, oil, and clothing. In the last several months, the mission has also helped to build homes for earthquake survivors.
